Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Norquist – Escorcia.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Linda. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.

I was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia in the ’80s. I always have the hear of an entrepreneur and since I was in 9th grade I started selling sandwiches, initially to generate money for Mother’s day but to my surprise people loved them! I kept getting orders daily until my mom noticed that the groceries kept disappearing and I was making over 20 sandwiches per week.

When I told her, she supported me and decided to help me. We went to the store and my heart was full of excitement, challenges, and sales. During my days at the university, I also sold all kinds of foods, treats and even exotic fruits in a jar.

I began my career working at a Hispanic Marketing Agency while finishing my MBA in Marketing. I gained invaluable experience in guerrilla marketing and content & cultural intelligence. My passion for consulting and mentorship can be traced back to the time in my career when I spent 9 years in the Commercial banking industry.

In 2017, I was chosen to represent the bank at the Project American Dreams 2017. “A platform and multi-city tour bringing knowledge, capital and access to opportunities to America’s fastest-growing entrepreneurial segment to turn their dreams into reality”. As a Latino entrepreneur, My roots give me unparalleled experience in the Hispanic marketing space, I have always wanted to work for myself, make my own rules and finally have the time to spend with my family and kids.

So in 2018, I decided to take charged of my husband Web Development Business “Bitmapwebdesign”. I gave it a twisted and replanned our strategy creating 2640 Media. Since then we have grown within a year what we expected to grow the first two years. It has been a crazy ride.

We have partnered with an amazing Digital Marketing Agency in Medellin, Colombia that focuses on SEO and SEM, allowing us to grow and expand our expertise, clients and market.

Has it been a smooth road?

Being an entrepreneur is never an easy road to take. You need to be constant, wear many “hats” and make harsh decisions. That is what drives me to work hard and achieve goals. The ups and downs.

The Struggles that we have found along the road are many. Seed money, getting leads, proving ourselves as experts in a very crow field and balancing a business, family, and advocacy.

We’d love to hear more about your business.

Why 2640 Media? I was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. Bogotá is a major political, economic, and industrial center in South America. It is the third most mountainous major city in the world and is known as the city that is 2640 meters closer to the stars.

2640 Media is a web development and digital media company based in Phoenix, AZ. We provide web design & development, SEO services, graphic design, social media strategy and SERP to professionals, businesses, and brands.

We are WordPress and eCommerce experts driven by the success of our clients. We are focused on building long term relationships with our clients and we want to help alleviate your workload and become an extension of your team who you can count on to get the job done. We are a boutique agency that proud ourselves of our ethics, quality of work and also posterior maintenance of our work.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?

I feel that our city is a good place for tech startups. In WalletHub’s 2019 “Best & Worst States to Start a Business” report, Arizona ranked within the top 12th for both “business environment” and “access to resources,” getting a final score of 54, therefore propelling itself above other entrepreneurially strong states such as California and Washington.

I feel there still room for improvement in our city. Helping startups to have more access to proper capital in order to start and grow their companies; having affordable options when looking to open a store or office like coworking spaces; building strong networks to organizations that provide education and advocacy for startups; finally, giving a higher priority for winning local contracts.
